Le rôle premier du fameux « savon sans savon » est de nettoyer la peau sans la déséquilibrer. Son pH proche de celui du film hydrolipidique évite l’effet desséchant du savon traditionnel, expliquant pourquoi il est largement recommandé pour le soin des peaux sèches, sensibles, réactives ou atopiques.
Ce type de nettoyant corps est appelé pain dermatologique. Il est formulé sans savon, avec un pH physiologique, c’est-à-dire à l’acidité conforme avec celle de la peau et respecte donc l’intégrité du film hydrolipidique de peau. Lorsqu’il est enrichi d’actifs nourrissants, on parle de pain surgras.
